Far Western University was established by the act of Parliament in 2010. It is a government-funded national University of Nepal. It provides quality education with research and innovation to the students of the Far Western region for higher education. The Vice-Chancellor of this University is Amma Raj Joshi. The Chancellor of this University is Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Sher Bahadur Deuba and Pro-Chancellor Mr. Devendra Paudel. The main areas of learning at Far Western University are categorized under the Faculty of Science and Technology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, Faculties of Engineering, Education, Agriculture, and Management. The main Campuses of Far Western University are Central Campus, Tikapur Multiple Campus, Darchula Multiple Campus, Bajura and Triveni Multiple Campuses, Ghanteswor Seti Mahakali Campus, Sitaram Multiple Campus, Janata, Jayaprithivi, Badimalika, Manilek, Patan, Jagannath Multiple Campuses, Gokuleshwar, and Kailali Multiple Campuses. The Departments of Far Western University consists of the Department of Computer Science and Information technology, Departments of General Sciences, Management, Engineering, Humanities, Education, and Agriculture. The academic programs are Undergraduate (Bachelor level), Graduate (Master Level), M.Phil, and Ph. D degrees in the above-mentioned disciplines. One of the important academic bodies of Far Western University is Curriculum Development Center formed under Article 18 of the Far Western University Act of 2067 B.S. This University has been recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education and University Grants Commission.
